“Jamie is like half of my memory now.” -Joe Rogan Young Jamie has the best job in the world, working with Joe Rogan in Austin, Texas, being surrounded with famous celebrities, and getting paid very handsomely. So many Rogan fans would happily do this job for free, but the person behind the job - Young Jamie - is a person whom people know very little about. Jamie Vernon aka ‘Young Jamie' has been the podcast producer for The Joe Rogan Experience podcast since 2013, taking over for Brian Redban. He is credited with improving the JRE podcast credibility significantly, having improved the presentation of the audio and video, being innovative with their YouTube channel, and leading the podcast on a successful transition to Spotify. How Young Jamie Changed the Podcast Industry One could definitely make the argument that Young Jamie was a critical component to the success and wild growth of the JRE podcast. After he took over for Brian Redban, the podcast’s production quickly became much more professionalized and was expanded across platforms. Jamie is widely considered as a pioneer in the industry of YouTube podcasting. One of the main innovations he made was that in addition to uploading full-length Joe Rogan podcasts, he started the practice of breaking up long podcasts to a smaller, more easily consumable lengths for viewers. Redban had been the sole producer of the podcast since the beginning. When Rogan wanted to start doing more podcasts but was limited to working around Redban’s schedule, he hired Young Jamie as an assistant producer. It wasn’t long after Jamie was hired that Redban left the position as producer and went on to other things. Rogan and Redban are still friends and he now comes on the podcast as a guest. Young Jamie's Education Born and raised in Ohio, Young Jamie’s LinkedIn indicates he went to Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The university specializes in audio, video, design and computer animation degrees, which makes sense given his career path. Although he was just poking fun, Rogan disclosed that Young Jamie had actually gifted him a pair but he refused to wear them.
