The 10 Most Heated Joe Rogan Episodes & Arguments

10 Times Joe Rogan Owned People: Heated Debates, Arguments, and Reasoning

Joe Rogan doesn’t shy away from disagreeing with people. He’s fond of reasonable discussion and doesn’t follow social trends of political correctness. He favors sticking to science, data, and common sense, and that’s why he brings on so many smart people to his podcast – to educate himself.

Even though Rogan doesn’t hesitate to disagree with something, it rarely gets heated. Certainly, over time, Rogan has calmed down a little bit and he is less frequently involved in heated exchanges than he once was. However, sometimes it still does.

In this article, let’s take a look at the top 10 times Joe Rogan owned people, sometimes getting a little spicy.

#10 – Joe Rogan vs. Candace Owens: Climate Change

On JRE podcast #1125, Candace Owens, a staunch Trump supporter and African-American woman, told Rogan that she doesn’t believe in climate change and global warming.

After Owens mentioned the environment as something she didn’t think we needed to look after, Rogan didn’t let her slide and instead asked her for more clarity.

The conversation continued to get more heated, as Rogan probed deeper on Owens’s beliefs, and she dug her heels in the ground. Check it out for yourself:

Rogan, historically a democrat on most social issues, is a nature lover that believes global warming is real and favors policies that support our environment and climate. As Rogan’s environmentalist buddy Doug Duren says, “It’s not ours. It’s just our turn.”

#9 – Brian Redban gets owned by Rogan for goofing off during podcast

Going way back into the archives to JRE episode #15, Rogan and JRE producer Brian Redban got into an argument involving an iPad.

Hilariously, Rogan is in the middle of an intellectually deep thought, involving an analogy between grasshoppers and language, while Redban appears to be not paying attention. Check it out for yourself:

Redban went defensive saying he was doing some “tech support”, but Rogan wasn’t buying it. Understandably, Rogan was upset because he was having a one-person conversation with himself while Redban should have been engaged.

#8 – Joe Rogan vs. Renato Laranja

Renato Laranja, possibly one of the most annoying people in the world, stalks Joe Rogan at the 10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu training gym. Laranja asked Rogan for a route into the UFC, and even called into the JRE podcast before.

Credit to Rogan here for being as nice as he can to Laranja, however you can clearly see how frustrated he is.

Renato Laranja gives Joe Rogan a hard time

After doing some digging, it appears that Laranja is actually just an alter-ego persona played by Rhasaan Orange.

Orange has a black belt from Eddie Bravo’s 10th planet Jiu-Jitsu. However, the character “Laranja” who claims to have 27 time World Jiu-Jitsu champion – was always just a “goof” and Rogan was doing a bit of acting too.

#7 – Joe Rogan vs. Moxie Marlinspike

Moxie Marlinspike, the creator of the encrypted messaging service Signal, came onto the JRE podcast in episode #1572. Although the conversation was intelligent and mostly cordial, things got a little heated when Marlinspike proposed a rock, paper, scissors game in exchange for a week of choosing Rogan’s podcast programming.

Rogan told Marlinspike to “F*** off” and when Marlinspike persisted, Rogan told him that there is literally nothing that Marlinspike could give him that he would want. They scuffle was a bad look for Marlinspike and the exchange came off as quite rude to even ask such a thing.

#6 – UFC vs Boxing argument on ESPN

Boxing promoter Lou DiBella and Joe Rogan got into an argument live on ESPN. Rogan said, “It’s a much more exciting sport (UFC) than the other combat sports that are out there right now. That’s why it’s here and that’s why it’s the fastest growing sport in the world.”

UFC has become much more popular than boxing due to several reasons. In the context of fighting, UFC is a more complete sport, incorporating legs, ground game, and submissions, whereas boxing only incorporates stand-up punching. Another reason is because of the top leadership from Dana White and having guys like Joe Rogan part of the sport.

One limitation to professional boxing is that there are several different championship belts in respect to different boxing organizations. This alone makes it difficult to understand who the real champion is of each weight division. In boxing, to become an undisputed champion you need to hold 4 belts at one time: IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO.

#5 – Joe Rogan vs. Stephen A. Smith

Stephen A. Smith, the popular ESPN host of First Take, made some ill-advised comments after the Conor McGregor-Cowboy Cerrone fight. The problem was that he didn’t know what he was talking about.

The McGregor/Cerrone fight lasted a very short 40 seconds in the 1st round. McGregor attacked aggressively from the start, breaking Cowboy’s nose with some shoulder thrusts.

After the fight, Stephen A. Smith made a comment that “…Cowboy Cerrone just didn’t show up” and that we didn’t learn anything about McGregor. Rogan immediately disagreed saying that we learned that McGregor can show up and perform when the lights come on.

#4 – Joe Rogan Gets Harassed by Hot Girl Fan

Here’s a smoking hot girl who clearly wants Joe Rogan’s attention. Somehow she got Rogan’s phone number and then was upset when he didn’t answer her call.

Rogan who seems like he’s had a few beers already, is polite but calls her out on her B.S. As a celebrity, he surely gets girls coming after him all the time. She storms away, clearly heartbroken.

#3 – Joe Rogan – Fear Factor Fight

To be fair, this has been called a “fight” but doesn’t escalate to punches thrown. On Fear Factor, a show that Rogan hosted from 2001 to 2006, one girl punched another guest in the chest. Rogan called her out, saying “HEY HEY HEY, what are you doing…you can’t assault people.”

After Rogan confronted her, the husband got confrontational and got into Rogan’s face. This led Rogan to start pulling out some grappling techniques on the guy. Luckily, another guest broke it up quickly, because Rogan was about to ground and pound him.

#2 – Rogan tries to calm down Kurt Metzger, calls him out on BS

Kurt Metzger, a stand-up comedian and Emmy winning writer, goes off about fans during JRE #1093.

Check out this quite entertaining ramble by Kurt Metzger. He seems a little crazy but credits that to drinking two Caveman Nitros, which contain 270 milligrams of caffeine each.

#1 – Joe Rogan vs. Feminist

At a bar just chilling, Rogan is approached by an unattractive feminist who starts berating him. Rogan tried to reason with her but gets set off when she scolds him for looking down when he’s “thinking.”

Clearly a control freak, the feminist ends up hitting Rogan and he pushes her away. Credit to Rogan for maintaining his composure because the situation could have turned out much worse. Check out for yourself:
