Joe Rogan’s podcast (JRE) is the best way to get to know someone famous. He has a unique way of interviewing where it’s just like two friends chatting and talking crap. As he’s said, there is nowhere to hide in a 1 on 1 long-form interview.
Rogan has interviewed a staggering amount of guests on his podcast, but there’s still a lot of people we wish he would have on.
This article will answer the question: Who do you want to see on the JRE podcast?
Joe and Young Jamie, let’s make it happen!
Chuck Norris
Chuck Norris, the friend and co-star of Bruce Lee is over 80 years old now, and would make an awesome guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast (JRE). They even met at a kickboxing event way back in the day.
He’s legit at karate, used to fight competitively and turned that into an action film career. Notably, he starred in the show Walker, Texas Ranger and numerous movies including Way of the Dragon with Bruce Lee.
Rogan even owned a pair of Chuck Norris Action Jeans, a pair of jeans that were made with elasticity so you could do high kicks with ease. Check out what Rogan has said about Chuck Norris in on the podcast:
Norris is a true hardcore martial artist. And with Rogan’s background in fighting, growing up in karate and taekwondo, he and Norris would make a great conversation.
Tony Robbins
Robbins is an inspirational life coach, author, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and motivational speaker. He self describes as the “why” guy, meaning he tries to get people to connect with why the want a particular goal.
In his goal training, he gets people to establish the “what”, “why”, and “how” to reach their goals, with extra emphasis on the “why”.
Rogan has mentioned that when he was a young adult get started in comedy, he used to listen to Tony Robbins and got a lot of value from him on things like overcoming your fears and goal-setting.
“Tony Robbins says a lot of really good stuff. And he says a lot of really motivational stuff that I listen to and is making a lot of sense.”
“I read a lot of his stuff back when I was competing in martial arts and when I was starting off as a standup comedian I read a lot of his stuff.”
Not to be taken out of context, Joe also questions what Robbins has actually done, success wise, other than create motivational stuff.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
Schwarzenegger is a wildly successful human being. He won the Mr. Olympia bodybuilding championship 7-times and became the top action movie star of his time, starring in countless movies including The Terminator. Also, he became the governor of California from 2003-2011, during which Joe Rogan lived there.
Rogan has had bodybuilder Ronnie Coleman on the podcast (#1489), and it would be a natural fit to have Schwarzenegger on there too. They could talk politics, fitness and nutrition, and movies.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson
We all know who “The Rock” is. He’s a blockbuster movie star, entrepreneur, TV host, and former WWE wrestler.
He was on the Miami Hurricanes college football team, playing as a defensive end. In 1991 his team won the national championship, with Johnson being a freshman.
His first career he sought to be a professional football player and hoped to make it to the NFL. After trying to make it in the CFL first, he decided to hang it up over numerous injuries.
Joe Rogan really admires The Rock’s work ethic, saying that there is nobody that works harder at his craft than him. Rogan says, “He’s a very nice guy and he is the real deal.”
They’d make a great podcast together and I could see them trying The Rock’s new tequila – Teremana.
Tina Fey
Tina Fey is an awesome actress and comedian, perhaps best known for her Saturday Night Live role from 1997-2006, particularly her role playing Sarah Palin. She’s since been involved with countless comedy sitcoms and movies.
On podcast #1524 with Ron Funches, Rogan had this to say about Tina Fey: “Yeah well, it’s a Tina Fey show too. And that lady, she figures sh*t out.” They were talking about how funny the show Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is, which was co-created by Fey.
Conor McGregor
Rogan runs a sub podcast off the JRE podcast, called the JRE MMA Show, where he frequently has guests who are top UFC fighters and boxers.
The off and on retired UFC fighter McGregor would be an awesome fit on the podcast. Few people know what Conor is really like because as soon as a camera is on him, he starts playing an act.
However, Rogan does such a great job interviewing and in a 3 hour long form interview – we would see the sides of Conor that we never get to.
It would be interesting to see Joe pick Conor’s brain about his mentality before and during fights. McGregor is so crazy and flashy, getting into crap talking during weigh-ins but I think it’s all a show. He gets calm and focused during pre-fight warm-ups, like Bruce Lee.
Chris Rock
Chris Rock is one of the best stand-up comedians of all time. And with Joe being a comedian himself, he frequently has other comedians on the podcast. So, it’s almost puzzling why Chris Rock has never been on the JRE podcast.
Rock first became widely popular for his role on Saturday Night Live, where he worked with Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Rob Schneider, and David Spade. He’s won 4 Emmy and 3 Grammy awards, and been in numerous box office hits, including: The Longest Yard and Grown Ups.
Lebron James
Not that Rogan is really into basketball, but he’s pondered on the podcast how good Lebron would be if he fought in UFC.
Joe says, “There are human beings that just have the most unfathomable physical advantages…You see a guy like that (Lebron), if he were fighting everyone would be f*cked.”
Peyton Manning
Peyton Manning is one of the greatest NFL quarterbacks of all-time. He was a Pro Bowler 14 times, First-Team All-Pro 7 times, and the NFL MVP 5 times. And he won two Super Bowls with two different teams, the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos and is a definite Hall of Famer.
Peyton is actually a very funny guy and a great storyteller. A podcast episode with Rogan and Manning would be one of the most interesting, entertaining JRE podcast episodes of all-time.
Eddie Murphy
Eddie Murphy is one of the greatest stand-up comedians of all time and Joe Rogan thinks so too. After reaching unfathomable fame and success early in his comedy career, Murphy has since taken a step out of the limelight.
In 2017, Eddie lost his brother Charlie Murphy to leukemia, who was on Joe Rogan’s podcast in the early days on episode #133.
It’s been rumored that Eddie may be working on some new material and making a return to stand-up. We can only hope!
Bear Grylls
Grylls is a British survival instructor, famous for his show Man vs. Wild. Before he got started on TV, he was a serviceman in SAS, a special forces unit for the British military that does recon and anti-terrorism operations.
Rogan has had quite a few survival and wilderness experts on the show, including Steven Rinella, Adam Greentree, and Forrest Galante. However, if there were one person you had to pick to be stranded in the wild with, it would Bear Grylls.
Ric Flair
Flair, aka “The Nature Boy”, is known for his famous “Woooo” is one of the best professional wrestlers of all-time. In fact, many people around the sport have said that he is the GOAT, including “Stone Cold” Steve Austin.
Rogan has had several different professional wrestlers on the podcast, including Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, and Jesse Ventura. It’d only make sense to have the GOAT Ric Flair on there too.
Rogan verbalized an open invitation to Ric Flair on his podcast:
Herschel Walker
A star running back, Herschel played football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, winning the national championship in 1980, the Heisman trophy in 1982 and was a 3-time All-American. After college, he had a successful 12 year NFL career where he accrued over 8,000 rushing yards.
Rogan and Walker would have a great conversation on 2 subjects: fitness and MMA.
Walker is known for his simple yet uncommon training regimens. Instead of lifting weights, he’s just done a lifetime of bodyweight exercises. Every morning he does about 1000 push-ups and 2000 sit-ups, and mixes in pull-ups, air squats and sprints.
Unbelievably at age 45, Herschel started fighting MMA professionally for Strikeforce and had a 2-0 record. Joe impressed by Walker said, “Herschel Walker at 48, 49, whatever he was when he was fighting – looked like a 30 year old perfect specimen.”
Sylvester Stallone
Stallone is an action movie star, best known for starring in the Rocky and Rambo movie dynasties. He’s also put out some great work in The Expendables series.
Rogan is quite impressed with Stallone’s ability to stay fit well into his 70’s.
Diamond Dallas Page shares this story about what Bill Goldberg told him about Stallone: “In a world of alpha dogs, there is one number one guy and his name is Sylvester Stallone.”
Dave Chappelle
Chappelle, another comedian that makes this list, is probably the best standup comedian in today’s game. He was so brilliant in Chappelle’s Show, displaying a blend of acting and comedy like we had never seen before.
Rogan wants to have Chappelle on the JRE podcast, but they’ve yet to make it happen.
Obama
Barack Obama was the 44th President of the United States. Love him or hate him, Obama is a pretty cool dude away from politics. I think it would be really interesting to get to know him in a long-form interview with Rogan.
Rogan has never had a president on the show, but has had numerous politicians and political candidates, including Andrew Yang, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, Doug Johnson, and Dan Crenshaw.
John Daly
The bad-boy of golf, John Daly is a fan favorite anywhere he goes. He’s won two majors, the PGA Championship and The Open Championship (British Open).
Notoriously, Daly has unhealthy habits such as drinking lots of alcohol and smoking cigarettes while competing in professional golf. He hates drinking water and eating vegetables and will go through several liters of diet coke in a single day.
I could see this interview turning into a Joe Rogan intervention on Daly. Several of Rogan’s friends have gotten some tough love from him, including Bert Kreischer, Brendan Schaub, and Joey Diaz about their health.
Michael Jordan
Jordan, is a freak of nature who played basketball for the Chicago Bulls 1984-1993, 1995-1998 and the Washington Wizards from 2001-2003. With 6 NBA Championships, 6 NBA Finals MVPs, 5 regular season MVPs and 14 NBA All-Stars, he is the best basketball player of all time.
He’s being pushed for the GOAT title by Lebron James, but he’s still got a lot more NBA Championships (6).
Now, Jordan owns the NBA Charlotte Hornets and starred in the hit documentary The Last Dance. Jordan and Rogan enjoy smoking cigars and playing pool, which Rogan has both in his podcast studio like when he smoked a cigar on episode #1522 with Rob Lowe.
Pat McAfee
McAfee, a former NFL punter, was a two time NFL Pro Bowler and 1 time NFL All-Pro. Now, he hosts his wildly successful and funny podcast, The Pat McAfee Show.
McAfee has been dabbling with some stand-up comedy lately and it seems like he and Joe Rogan have much in common. I can guarantee he’ll be on Joe’s podcast sometime in the near future.
Here is McAfee talking with Rogan’s buddy Bert Kreischer about what Joe Rogan is really like:
Steve Austin
Austin, also known as “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, is a former professional wrestler and actor. He played a key villain role in The Expendables with other superstars Sylvester Stallone and Jason Statham. He’s one of the baddest dudes on the planet.
Rogan has had other pro wrestlers on his podcast, but none as big of a superstar as Steve Austin. Vince McMahon has referred to him as being the biggest superstar in wrestling history and is commonly known that way by fans.
Marshawn Lynch
Lynch aka “Beast Mode”, is a former NFL running back with a Super Bowl win and over 10,000 rushing yards in his career. He made 5 Pro Bowls and is likely to make the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Rogan hasn’t had very many NFL football players on the podcast, but if there were one to have – it would be Marshawn Lynch. He’s one of the most unique human beings on the planet and funny as hell.
Listen to Pat McAfee give a hilarious tribute to Marshawn. If you only watch one video in this entire article, this is the best one:
