The 30 Funniest Episodes, Guests on Joe Rogan’s Podcast

Stand-up comedy microphone and stage

Creating a list of the funniest comedians to ever appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast was an extremely tough task. It took hours of research before I could even type one word.

I browsed all the way back to Joe Rogan’s first podcast, sorting through the massive list of comedians that have been guests to make sure not to leave anyone out. There were so many tough calls that I had to drop some very talented comedians off the list and add them to the honorable mention category.

My goal with this list is to turn you on to some of the funniest people and episodes to listen to. And thanks to Spotify, you can easily search their app to find the exact Joe Rogan podcast episode you want to listen to, although some of them may have been removed.

From one Joe Rogan fan to another, I really hope you enjoy this list.

Honorable Mention

Fahim Anwar, Dan Aykroyd, Roseanne Barr, Alonzo Bodden, Neal Brennan, Hannibal Buress, Bryan Callen, David Choe, Dane Cook, Chris D’Elia, Chris Distefano, Snoop Dogg, Leon Edwards, Greg Fitzsimmons, Tom Green, Anthony Jeselnik, Punkie Johnson, Bert Kreischer, Annie Lederman, Derrick Lewis, Gabriel Iglesias, Bill Maher, Kurt Metzger, Mark Normand, Steve-O, Christina P, Ms. Pat, Jessimae Peluso, Russell Peters, Amy Schumer, Ari Shaffir, Iliza Shlesinger, Pauly Shore, Brian Simpson, Dave Smith, Doug Stanhope, Jon Stewart, Carrot Top, Jesus Trejo, Sam Tripoli, Jimmy O. Yang

#30: Tim Dillon

Tim Dillon on JRE

On JRE episodes: #1251, #1390, #1457, #1525, #1544, #1555, #1610, #1677, #1752, #1860, #2019

Sometimes I suppose that Rogan thinks Tim Dillon is funnier than we the fans do. But, he is indeed funny and quickly becoming one of Rogan’s good friends. I’ve listened to a few of Dillon’s appearances as a guest and he is bit more on the “loud and obnoxious” side of funny, but he will make you chuckle sometimes.

Dillon hosts the Tim Dillon Show podcast (it seems like every comedian has their own podcast now). As a kid, he sought to be a child actor and did not have great success, although he landed a small role on Sesame Street twice.

#29: Andrew Santino

Andrew Santino on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #969, #1090, #1148, #1183, #1293, #1317, #1371, #1438, #1642, #1942

Santino is a rising star in the comedy industry. I had never heard of him until he appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast, but apparently he was already quite famous. He does share some funny stories on the podcast episodes.

Santino grew up in Chicago and has been quite successful with his stand-up comedy, podcasts, TV series, and movies, including The Disaster Artist with James Franco. He goes back with Rogan from their days at The Comedy Store together and co-hosts a podcast with Bobby Lee.

#28: Andrew “Dice” Clay

Andrew Dice Clay on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #215, #253, #304, #779, #1989

You will have to go way back into the archives to find Dice’s first appearances on the Joe Rogan Experience (JRE). When he was in the prime of his career, there was nobody hotter than Dice. He usually played an arrogant tough guy, but that is not his personality in real life.

Dice is a comedy legend and featured in The Comedy Store documentary, a must-watch if you want to know the roots of comedy and Joe Rogan.

#27: Mike Tyson

On JRE episodes: #1227, #1532, #1805

Ok, hear me out on this one. Although, not a comedian by trade, Tyson has produced some of the funniest moments in JRE history. And he has performed stand-up before (YouTube). His story about buying tigers almost had Rogan on the ground laughing. It had me there too.

Another moment was when Tyson explained getting erections when preparing for a fight and asking Rogan if that was normal. Rogan, obviously, couldn’t laugh about that in the presence of Tyson. You could see the look on Rogan’s face like – WTF? I choked on my food when I heard that.

#26: Duncan Trussell

Duncan Trussell on JRE

On JRE episodes: #42, #863, #1464, #1530, #1666, #1806, #1839, #1891, #1953, #2000, #2009 (and many more)

You might recognize Trussell as the guy wearing the crazy Sasquatch looking costume on the podcast. He is one of Rogan’s long time buddies and has been on JRE as early as episode #42 in 2010. He’s one of the podcast’s most frequent guests.

Trussell is a stand-up comedian who’s nerdy voice and style gets people laughing hard. He is an actor, voice actor, comedian, writer, and podcast host of The Duncan Trussell Family Hour.

#25: Andy Dick

On JRE episode: #88

Similar to Dillon, Andy Dick is obnoxious and loud but absolutely hilarious. I remember seeing him on Division III: Football’s Finest, where Dick plays a ruthless football coach. A great movie with lots of laughs, but one you will probably only watch once.

Dick was a co-star with Rogan on NewsRadio and appeared on JRE #88 way back in 2011, although it appears the podcast is no longer available to watch on Spotify.

#24: Louis C.K.

Louis CK on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #1286, #1859, #1929

Louis CK is one of the most popular comedians of all time and has made several appearances on the JRE podcast. After having a little bit of a hiccup in his career in 2017, has since had a successful career resurgence in stand-up comedy.

#23: Nikki Glaser

Nikki Glaser on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #1179, #1360, #1528

Standing at 5’9″, Glaser is one of the prettiest stand-up comedians and has become a star in the comedy industry. But, she makes this list purely from her talent as a legit comedian.

Also, see where Glaser lands on The 15 Hottest Women on Joe Rogan’s Podcast.

A good friend of Rogan’s, she has appeared on the JRE podcast multiple times. Her appearances always have interesting stories about her personal life, including how she sobered up from alcohol using a book. Now, she hosts her own podcast, The Nikki Glaser Podcast, and released a Netflix special, Bangin’ (2019).

#22: Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #990

In 2017, Foxx made his debut appearance on the JRE podcast on episode #990. Incredibly talented, Foxx has actually done some hilarious stand-up performances before, including his special I Might Need Security.

Most people think of Foxx as an actor or a singer, and he is extremely skilled at that, but the world wishes he would spend more time doing stand-up. He is set to play the role of Mike Tyson in a film about Tyson’s life.

#21: Matt Rife

Matt Rife on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #2033

Rife’s rapid rise to fame as one of the funniest stand-up comedians was bolstered by some viral videos that spread through social media like wildfire. As a young comedian, his comedy special Matt Rife: Only Fans was a popular hit.

On JRE #2033, Rife talked about Rogan’s favorite subject – chimpanzees, as well as Rife’s favorite hobby – ghost hunting.

#20: Lenny Clarke

On JRE episodes: #1270, #1362

Lenny Clarke is a stand-up comedy legend and has been performing for over 40 years. A successful actor as well, he has been in dozens of shows and movies, including playing Uncle Teddy in Rescue Me.

Clarke’s appearances on JRE are some of the funniest ones and I highly recommended. He has incredible firsthand stories about heavy partying with other comedians, notably the deceased Sam Kinison. One story he told Rogan was how, in the middle of a bender, he was tricked into going to an AA meeting.

#19: Jay Leno

Jay Leno on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #692

Jay Leno mastered the art of comedy at The Comedy Store in L.A., and later, became the master of late-night shows with his hosting of The Tonight Show. He took over after Johnny Carson retired from the show, and held the position for over 20 years until Conan O’Brien came on.

After The Tonight Show, I thought Leno would just retire and hang out with his massive car collection. But I was wrong. He maintains a very active schedule, traveling around the country doing stand-up and shows.

#18: Whitney Cummings

Whitney Cummings on JRE

On JRE episodes: #732, #793, #923, #1016, #1067, #1328, #1529, #1654, #1850

Don’t let her smoking hot looks fool you, Cummings is a legit hilarious comedian. She’s a great friend of Rogan and is a recurring guest on the podcast. Cummings is probably the most popular female stand-up comedian in the world today and she also got her roots at The Comedy Store in L.A.

Cummings has a podcast, Good For You, with the title being reflective of her genuinely good heart. Can I Touch It? – was her Netflix special that debuted in 2019.

#17: Kyle Dunnigan

Kyle Dunnigan on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #1134, #1495, #1707

Dunnigan is one of my personal favorite comedians. I didn’t find his appearances on JRE to be that funny, but his social media profiles (Instagram and Twitter) are absolutely hysterical.

He uses “deepfake” technologies to do celebrity impressions and nobody is off-limits. He mostly picks on the Kardashians, politicians like Trump and Biden, Caitlyn Jenner, and other trendy famous people.

#16: Tom Papa

Tom Papa on JRE

On JRE episodes: #609, #927, #1333, #1424, #1549, #1662, #1789 (and many more)

Maybe it’s his calm, chilled demeanor but I find Tom Papa to be extremely funny. His personality reminds me of Jim Gaffigan, especially when he gets talking about food, pasta, and bread.

Papa has been a recurring guest on Joe Rogan’s podcast (over 15 appearances), and is one his good buddies.

#15: Bill Burr

Bill Burr on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #26, #967, #1219, #1491, #1575 (and many more)

Known for his rough edges and Boston accent, Burr is one of the top earning comedians in the world. Rogan mentioned that he admires Burr’s ability to just talk, specifically referring to his podcast, the Monday Morning Podcast, where he will just talk by himself for an hour or two.

Burr displays a unique ability to take an idea and just run with it for an hour. He is a recurring guest on JRE and has been on over 10 times.

#14: Ron White

Ron White on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #888, #1268, #1534, #1734

White, a blue-collar comedian, is known for drinking scotch and smoking cigars as part of his stand-up comedy routine. He’s hilarious and one of the most famous stand-up comedians in the world, especially relating to the Southern folks.

In JRE #1534, White was the second guest to appear in Rogan’s new podcast studio in Austin, Texas.

#13: Andrew Schulz

On JRE episodes: #1265, #1314, #1488, #1580, #1695, #1846, #1960

Andrew Schulz is one of the hottest names in the world of comedy and rightfully so. He is especially funny when reporting the news or diving into conspiracy theories.

JRE #1488 with Schulz is one of the funniest JRE episodes of all-time and a must watch. Check out the preview from Rogan’s Instagram:

Rogan admired how Schulz thrived during the coronavirus pandemic, using technology and creativity, while most comedians were out of work.

#12: Joey Diaz

Joey Diaz on JRE

On JRE episodes: #25, #627, #1000, #1448, #1523, #1778, #1973 (any many more)

Anyone who listens to the Joe Rogan Experience podcast knows who Joey Diaz is. He always has a funny story to tell, although it is unclear the amount of exaggeration he puts into it. Who cares? The funniest stories that he tells are about his notoriously bad farts.

*Joey Diaz tells a fart story to Joe Rogan and Tom Segura

If there were a JRE Hall of Fame, Diaz would be the first inductee. He has been on over 50 times. Now, he runs his own podcast, formerly named The Church of What’s Happening Now, and now called Uncle Joey’s Joint.

#11: Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #1278, #1480

If this list was about who is the most popular then Kevin Hart might be #1. Hart has a notoriously hard work ethic and has the respect of Joe Rogan. His guest appearances on JRE are funny, but the true value is in the life advice and motivation he dishes out. Definitely worth your time to listen to.

#10: Tony Hinchcliffe

Tony Hinchcliffe on JRE

On JRE episodes: #350, #843, #1400, #1471, #1586, #1720, #1750, #1813, #1948 (and many more)

Hinchcliffe is a regular on JRE and has become one of Rogan’s best friends. He hosts one of my favorite podcasts to listen to – Kill Tony, which has had Rogan on as a guest a few times. The podcast is basically an open mike night in front of a live audience. Hinchcliffe draws from a hat to pick audience members to perform 1 minute of stand-up and then get critiqued by the panel.

Remember Brian Redban? He was Rogan’s old co-host and tech engineer for JRE, prior to Young Jamie. Yea, he works with Kill Tony now, running the shows technology and is always onstage.

#9: Tom Segura

Tom Segura

On JRE episodes: #8, #693, #1007, #1103, #1447, #1632, #1703, #1844, #2005 (and many more)

Another JRE Hall of Fame member would be Tom Segura. He’s been on Rogan’s podcast over 30 times. A few of his guest appearances he did with his wife, Christina P – #295 and #855.

Segura is extremely successful in both stand-up and podcasting. He has a few top hit Netflix specials and multiple podcasts – Two Bears One Cave (with Bert Kreischer), and Your Mom’s House (with his wife).

He is one of the four horsemen of the Sober October challenge, where he, Bert Kreischer, Ari Shaffir, and Joe Rogan all compete in a health challenge, going completely sober during the month of October.

#8: Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #76

It is a little strange that Bobby Lee hasn’t been on JRE more often because he frequently does other podcasts, including his own called TigerBelly. Rogan admires him too, saying once that he is the funniest comedian to not have his own TV special. But, if Lee wanted to have his own special, he certainly could, so it is a bit puzzling why he doesn’t.

Most people don’t realize that Bobby Lee was actually on JRE, although it was way back in the beginning. I fell in love with Lee as a comedian back from his days on MadTV, which you can still find loads of footage on YouTube.

#7: Ralphie May

Ralphie May on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #59

Ralphie May made an appearance on Rogan’s podcast back in 2010. Heavily overweight, May used it as material for his jokes and it made him one of the funniest comedians of his time. I remember watching May on the first season of Last Comic Standing, and although he finished in second place I was upset because he should have won.

Unfortunately, May passed away on October 6th, 2017 at the age of 45.

#6: Jim Gaffigan

Jim Gaffigan on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #193, #1335, #1761, #2014

Jim Gaffigan is hands down one of best comedians of all time. While most comedians rely on talking dirty and vulgarity – Gaffigan keeps it clean with family humor, yet can still reach any audience. His favorite subject to joke about is food, usually picking on his bad eating habits.

#5: Jeff Ross

Jeff Ross on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episodes: #686, #902, #1207

Jeff Ross is the man behind all the hilariously brutal roasts. He is the king of roasts, the one comedian that you’d never want to have his spotlight on you. Ross is the host of Jeff Ross Presents Roast Battle, and the host of numerous Comedy Central Roasts of celebrities.

Ross is partly responsible for getting Rogan back to the Comedy Store (he had been banned for Carlos Mencia incident). Apparently, Rogan was visiting The Comedy Store to watch Ari Shaffir film his special, and Ross talked him into coming to a roast battle that same day, further allowing Rogan to make peace with management and bring about his return.

#4: Artie Lange

On JRE episodes: #618, #1376

JRE #1376 is one of funniest episodes of all time. It establishes Lange as my personal favorite storyteller for two reasons: 1) they are hilarious and 2) his stories are absolute mayhem.

Lange has a unique background of gambling, alcohol, and drug addiction. With a lot of money, he had the resources to create an interesting past and get into lots of trouble. He has stories about hanging out with Chris Farley, which is ironic because Lange almost died himself before getting sober.

#3: Shane Gillis

Shane Gillis on JRE

On JRE episodes: #1685, #1728, #1764, #1802, #1834, #1866, #1907, #1926, #1957, #1991, #2030

Out of any guest, Gillis is probably the best at making Joe Rogan laugh uncontrollably. He is a stand-up comedian that has a rapid rise in popularity over the last few years, thanks in part to his frequent appearances on the JRE Podcast.

Gillis’s story about hanging out with Nate Diaz is a must listen to episode and one of the funniest stories you’ll ever here.

#2: Theo Von

Theo Von on JRE

On JRE episodes: #925, #1118, #1141, #1255, #1731, #1847, #1994

Von is a comedian that experienced rocket like growth with his fame. I first learned about him from listening to him on JRE, but he has since launched a few podcasts of his own. 1) This Past Weekend, and 2) The King and The Sting (with Brendan Schaub).

Von looks at Rogan as a mentor and an “older brother.” His appearances on JRE are must listen to episodes, and in my opinion, he is probably the funniest recurring guest.

#1: Dave Chappelle

Dave Chappelle on Joe Rogan's JRE Podcast

On JRE episode: #1567, #1647

Dave Chappelle is one of the funniest comedians of all-time. He and Rogan started teaming up during the pandemic, selling out shows in barbecue joints in Austin, Texas.

Anybody knows Chappelle from his Chappelle’s Show, which squarely put him on the map as the top comedian in the game. Although he had an eight year period of laying low (’05-’13), he has made a successful career resurgence, selling out arenas all over the country.
